I have a confession to make. This is the first time I’m trying Casa Rap Garden Cafe. I have no explanation as to why I haven’t tried it before, but now I’m full of regrets that it took me so long to try it.
Imagine how many of their halo halo I should have enjoyed by now.
But no point in blaming myself. I guess I just have to keep on going back so I can make up for lost time.
The Famous Casa Rap Halo Halo
Their halo halo needs no introduction. It’s legendary, and now I know why. It’s worth the short trip to San Jose Batangas. Yes, you can make the trip just for the halo halo alone and it will be worth it.
Their halo halo can be a misnomer because there’s no need to “mix mix” to enjoy the popular dessert. The ice itself is basically sherbet. You can enjoy it on its own.

But why stop there when they have so many delicious offerings? Let’s start with their Casa Rap Salad. You know how some people would order salad just for the sake of ordering a salad for health purposes? This is a salad that you’ll order because it tastes so good.
The salad is a good starter together with their shabu shabu soup. It has a distinct taste that I can’t quite place.
They also have amazing meat dishes. Make sure to get the calderetang tupa.
You’d think that it’s beef. It’s a recipe that’s been passed on through generations.
The same goes for their longganisang hubad, which I’m guessing is popular among their breakfast patrons.
Speaking of breakfast, their tapa is one of the best I’ve tried. Oh, how much I’d pay for the exact marinade recipe.
My wife and I also loved the ginataang kuhol. It’s as delicious as it is fun to pick out the meat.
The liempo sisig has two of my favorite things in, well, liempo and sisig. It didn’t disappoint!
Wash them all down with their refreshing santol juice.
The secret to their delicious dishes is their slow cooking process. Yep, you can expect a bit of a wait if you’re a walk-in customer. This is because the food is prepared with love, and that requires a bit of time.
This is why it’s recommended that you call ahead so they can prepare the food so that it will be ready upon your arrival.
