Popoy n Basha is a known brand in Lipa City. It’s become so popular that when people say Popoy and Basha, a lot of us immediately think of ribs and steaks instead of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo.
Word quickly spread and therefore diners from all over Batangas and even Luzon trooped to Popoy n Basha in Lipa City to enjoy yummy and affordable ribs and steaks, among others.
Speaking of diners all over Batangas, they’ve been clamoring for branches nearer them. The people behind Popoy n Basha listened, and this is why they put up a branch in Batangas City and Sto. Tomas.
We recently had the privilege of trying their Sto. Tomas branch.

They’re a restaurant that specializes on delicious ribs and steaks. While they have a lot of other items in their menu, these 2 bestsellers attract the biggest crowds.
In addition to the fact that they’re delicious, another reason why they’ve become so popular is they’re offering very affordable prices.
This is why you often see groups of friends, families, and even employees on a quick lunch break.
They’ve also become popular among people looking to have food delivered for a quality meal at home.
While their Lipa City branch has this cozy appeal, the Sto. Tomas branch is bigger. Located at the Plumeria Hotel, they’ve set up shop in the said hotel’s events center.
I was wondering if the food is going to taste the same. It does. It’s still the Popoy n Basha that I’ve grown to love in Lipa City.
The Food
If you need me to recommend one dish, I’d have to recommend their Ribs Deluxe.
You’re getting a massive slab of ribs, 2 Hungarian sausages (wifey’s favorite), baked potato, and their top-notch corn salsa. It’s a dish that’s good for 4 to 5.
However, how can I forget their steaks?
This is where it gets overwhelming. It’s hard to choose just one considering both the ribs and steaks are good. You just have to bring a couple of your friends so you can order them both for sharing.
But then again, I’m forgetting about my other favorites – the Lechon Kawali, Sizzling Sisig, Chicken ala King and Buttered Garlic Chicken.
Popoy n Basha can drop the ribs and steaks from their menu, which I hope they don’t do, and they’ll still be very popular with these 4 dishes.
